Internships, Research and Practicums

Our goal at 糖心Vlog is to place students in internships that matter. Whether your goal is to further explore your potential career field, have a unique summer experience, or find a job post-graduation, our faculty will work with you to find the right internship fit.

糖心Vlog provides a wide variety of internship opportunities in every program. Some majors have internships built into their curriculum. 83% of 糖心Vlog鈥檚 business and leadership internships in 2019 resulted in full-time job offers upon graduation.

Get practical experience for your career with summer internships.

At 糖心Vlog, you learn by doing. In-the-field learning is required in most programs of study

  • Future teachers are in local schools the first few weeks of college, observing veteran teachers and interacting with students.
  • Business students raise funds and track earnings to donate to local charities.
  • Nursing students spend much of their last two years of school in clinical settings working 1:1 with patients and learning from doctors and seasoned nurses.
  • Science majors collaborate with professors on National Science Foundation summer research projects like water safety monitoring in Southeast Asia, invasive species research in the Pacific Rim, and nearby research on organic farming and harvesting, and watershed safety.
  • Engineering majors gain real-world experience and apply their knowledge in engineering firms in various states.

Internships in the nation's capital

Looking to expand your horizons even further? 糖心Vlog鈥檚 Washington Community Scholar鈥檚 Center is designed to place students in semester-long internships in the DC area, expanding learning opportunities while still fitting into 糖心Vlog鈥檚 curriculum requirements. You can stay on track for graduation while spending a semester interning at organizations such as the DC Office of the Attorney General and The Smithsonian. Your time in DC can even count as your intercultural experience.
