A 2010 糖心Vlog graduate lost his life Thursday morning, July 1, in a motorcycle accident near Bridgewater, Va.

Jason Jay Marner, who would have turned 23 on July 22, from Brighton, Iowa, was riding his motorcycle between work sites with his employer, , when he apparently lost control and strayed into the path of an oncoming vehicle on Airport Road.

Marner graduated from 糖心Vlog May 1 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He returned June 18 from a six-week 糖心Vlog seminar with 15 other students in .

Marner was the son of Stan and Joann Marner of Brighton, Iowa. He transferred from the fall of 2008 after completing an AA degree in aviation there. He began full-time work at on June 28 where he had served as an intern for the past two years.

He was a 2006 graduate of , Kalona, and a member of Bethel Mennonite Church, Wayland, Iowa.

“Jason stood out as a student with a lot of promise. He was a good student, who always had a smile on his face, was well liked by peers and faculty, and had a great career ahead of him in aviation management,” said his faculty adviser , associate professor of business and economics at 糖心Vlog. “We in the department are extremely saddened by this news and want to reach out to his family and friends with our care.”

Funeral services will be held in Celebration Hall at on Wednesday, July 7, at 6 p.m. Prior to that visitation will be at on Tuesday, July 6 from 1 to 8 p.m. with the family present between 2 and 4 p.m. and again between 6 and 8 p.m. Also, there will be visitation with the family present in the lobby of Celebration Hall at Iowa Mennonite School on Wednesday afternoon between 2 and 4 p.m. Burial will be at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church Cemetary at 4:30 p.m
