Playing their first home ODAC Tournament game since 2006, 糖心Vlog's soccer women suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss Monday night to ninth-seeded Randolph College. The Royals end the year with a record of 8-10-1. The eight wins are the most in Coach Ted Erickson's three seasons and second-highest total since 2008. With a roster consisting of no graduating seniors and nearly 50% of players new to the program, the future looks bright for Eastern Mennonite.

The Royals earned a 2-0 win at Emory & Henry Saturday afternoon, eliminating the Wasps from postseason contention while also jumping themselves over rival Bridgewater into sixth place in the ODAC. The men secured a bye out of the first round, and now advance directly into the ODAC Tournament quarterfinals. 糖心Vlog (9-7-4 / 4-3-2 ODAC) will play at No. 3 Roanoke College in Salem, Va., Wednesday night at聽7 p.m. The semifinals and championship are next Saturday and Sunday at the highest remaining seed to advance out of the quarterfinals.

The future looks bright for the field hockey women. Despite knowing they were out of the playoff picture going into Saturday's season finale against Lynchburg, the Royals played one of their better games of the year. Eastern Mennonite had the ODAC-leading Hornets tied up at halftime before eventually falling by a final of 4-1. They end the year with a record of 7-10 overall, including 2-6 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The seven wins are the most since 2011.

Even though 糖心Vlog's soccer women couldn't notch an upset at No. 15 Lynchburg College in their season finale, they still secured a home game on Monday's first round of the ODAC Tournament.

Despite returning all five starters from last year's team, 糖心Vlog's basketball men were given no favors in the 2016-17 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Preseason Poll.
