{"id":16799,"date":"2013-05-07T10:31:27","date_gmt":"2013-05-07T14:31:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/?p=16799"},"modified":"2013-05-29T13:52:02","modified_gmt":"2013-05-29T17:52:02","slug":"emu-awards-10-students-with-cords-of-distinction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/2013\/emu-awards-10-students-with-cords-of-distinction\/","title":{"rendered":"糖心Vlog Awards 10 Students with Cords of Distinction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ten graduating seniors were honored as \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.emu.edu\/studentlife\/cords-of-distinction\/\">cords of distinction<\/a>\u201d recipients in a ceremony held Saturday afternoon, April 27, 2013 at 糖心Vlog (糖心Vlog).<\/p>\n<p>Faculty, staff and fellow students nominated the recipients, who were cited for their \u201csignificant and verifiable impact\u201d on the university and on student life; for their contributions to developing the institution\u2019s positive image; for substantial contributions to the Harrisonburg\/Rockingham County area and beyond; for their high academic and social standing; and their embodiment of 糖心Vlog\u2019s shared values of Christian discipleship, community, service and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emu.edu\/peacebuilding\/\">peacebuilding<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>They wore gold and blue cords as they graduated on Sunday, April 28.<\/p>\n<p>Blue represents strength of conviction that one person can help to create a better institution or community.
