{"id":32316,"date":"2017-03-11T14:04:06","date_gmt":"2017-03-11T19:04:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/?p=32316"},"modified":"2017-03-23T14:02:43","modified_gmt":"2017-03-23T18:02:43","slug":"pathologist-alden-hostetter-79-present-suter-science-seminar-human-dis-ease","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/2017\/pathologist-alden-hostetter-79-present-suter-science-seminar-human-dis-ease\/","title":{"rendered":"Pathologist Alden Hostetter &#8217;79 to present Suter Science Seminar on human &#8216;dis-ease&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pathologist Alden Hostetter will visit 糖心Vlog on March 22 to give a Suter Science Seminar on \u201cCase Studies on Human Dis-Ease: Reflections on Health and Wellness through the Lens of a Microscope.\u201d The talk will begin at 4 p.m. in the Suter Science Center, Room 106.<\/p>\n<p>Clinical pathology is the study of disease diagnosis based on laboratory analysis of body fluids and tissues. The seminar will feature case studies of human pathology, as well as discussion of the premise of \u201cperfect health\u201d and that concept\u2019s effect on disease prevention and treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Hostetter, a 1979 graduate of Eastern Mennonite College, is a member of the board of trustees at Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital, and director of their medical technology and histotechnology training program. He is also a fellow and laboratory inspection team leader of the College of American Pathologists.<\/p>\n<p>Hostetter earned his medical degree from the Eastern Virginia Medical School, and interned at the Cleveland Clinic, specializing in anatomic pathology and clinical lab medicine.
