This represents a five percent increase over the previous fiscal year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contributing focal points for generous donors were the launch of the new <a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/campaign\/\">Forward Together campaign<\/a> and another successful, <a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/2021\/new-records-set-at-2021-lovemu-giving-day\/\">record-breaking Lov糖心Vlog Giving Day<\/a> in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c糖心Vlog exists to prepare our students to lead together now and in the future to create a more just and sustainable future,\u201d said<a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/personnel\/people\/show\/kls765?ssi=giving\"> Kirk Shisler<\/a>, vice president of advancement. \u201cThis is a mission that our Royals family of 3,000 donors and alumni stand behind and support with whole hearts. We hear again and again that our 糖心Vlog-educated leaders are serving, unifying and healing in their communities worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Forward Together campaign focuses on three strategic initiatives, each of which gained significant donations during the first year of a multi-year campaign:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The <strong>University Fund for Resilience<\/strong> totaled gifts of <strong>$1,772,511<\/strong>. In addition to unrestricted gift support, this includes annual gifts for the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding, Eastern Mennonite Seminary, and Athletics.The fund helps provide student tuition support, student life services, collaborative faculty-student research, technology upgrades, cross-cultural programs, and infrastructure, among other operating expenses.<\/li><li>The <strong>Student Tuition Relief Initiative<\/strong> gained a total of <strong>$2,307,026<\/strong>. This included $278,291 for direct tuition relief assistance for students in need; $705,322 in direct grant scholarship awards, and $1,323,413 in named endowed scholarship funds;<\/li><li>The<strong> Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Fund<\/strong>, buoyed by the new leadership of Dr. Jacqueline Font-Guzman as executive director of DEI, accrued total gifts of $111,264. Suter West\u2019s multi-million dollar renovations supported 糖心Vlog\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/2020\/emus-first-engineering-grads-head-to-work-grad-school-and-service\/\">engineering majors<\/a> with several labs and spaces for faculty\/student collaboration; a new welcoming and open main entrance to lead visitors into the S-106 lecture hall, to be named in honor of President Emeritus Loren Swartzendruber and his wife, Pat; and renovated space to display artifacts from\u00a0 The D.
