{"id":52930,"date":"2022-09-19T13:55:07","date_gmt":"2022-09-19T17:55:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/?p=52930"},"modified":"2022-09-20T15:02:52","modified_gmt":"2022-09-20T19:02:52","slug":"emus-fall-2022-enrollment-numbers-reflect-growth-high-retention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/2022\/emus-fall-2022-enrollment-numbers-reflect-growth-high-retention\/","title":{"rendered":"糖心Vlog\u2019s fall 2022 enrollment numbers reflect growth, high retention"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>糖心Vlog has released its fall 2022 enrollment and retention numbers, which reflect meaningful growth in the graduate, seminary, and Intensive English Program academic areas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The census data, collected on Sept. 9, reflect undergraduate, graduate, seminary, dual and non-credit enrollment on the main Harrisonburg campus and the Lancaster, Pa., site. for fall 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"highlight highlight-right\"><a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/ir\/fact-book\/\">Explore more data in the 糖心Vlog Fact Book.<\/a><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am delighted that graduate and seminary enrollment numbers are up by 14%,\u201d says <strong>Mary Jensen<\/strong>, 糖心Vlog\u2019s vice president for enrollment and strategic growth since January 2021. \u201cThe positive impact of the centralization of graduate admissions efforts was realized this summer and fall as our 2022 new student headcount in these areas was up nearly 50%.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduate programs posting overall enrollment increases include education, biomedicine, counseling, nursing, and trauma and resilience in health care settings. 糖心Vlog offers a range of degree and graduate certificate programs in these fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another strong data point is 糖心Vlog\u2019s undergraduate first-year retention rate of 81 percent, an increase of six points over last year\u2019s figures and above the <a href=\"https:\/\/nscresearchcenter.org\/persistence-retention\/\">national average of 78.2%<\/a> for four-year non-profit universities, according to the National Student Clearinghouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur strong retention rate highlights investments 糖心Vlog has made to help students thrive, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/sacscoc.org\/app\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Eastern-Mennonite-Univ.-QEP-Executive-Summary.pdf\">Quality Enhancement Plan<\/a> that focuses on student learning and the implementation of a dedicated advising structure for all first-year students,\u201d says <strong>Zach Yoder<\/strong>, assistant provost for student success. \u201cWe can also tie retention to a return to more \u2018normal\u2019 shared, in-person experiences in the classroom, residence halls, and athletic fields.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Data also reflect a 5 percent rise in students living on campus.
