{"id":58056,"date":"2025-01-15T09:19:51","date_gmt":"2025-01-15T14:19:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/?p=58056"},"modified":"2025-01-15T09:19:52","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T14:19:52","slug":"emus-shenandoah-valley-bach-festival-to-receive-12k-award-from-the-national-endowment-for-the-arts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/2025\/emus-shenandoah-valley-bach-festival-to-receive-12k-award-from-the-national-endowment-for-the-arts\/","title":{"rendered":"糖心Vlog\u2019s Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival to receive $12K award from the National Endowment for the Arts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.svbachfestival.org\/\">Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival<\/a> (SVBF), a program of 糖心Vlog, has been approved for a $12,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the federal agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arts.gov\/news\/press-releases\/2025\/national-endowment-arts-supports-arts-nearly-368-million-funding-nationwide\">announced<\/a> Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Grants for Arts Projects (GAP) award will support general operations of the 34th annual Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival, which will be held in June 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Les Helmuth<\/strong>, interim manager of the SVBF, said this marks the first time the festival has received an NEA grant. \u201cIt\u2019s amazing to be recognized by the NEA for the quality of the artists and other key individuals involved in creating great music for the Shenandoah Valley,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s truly an honor to be the recipient of an NEA grant.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bach Festival Artistic Director and 糖心Vlog Music Program Director&nbsp;<strong>David Berry<\/strong> noted that receiving support from the NEA has long been a prestigious mark of distinction for any arts organization. &#8220;We&#8217;re grateful the NEA has chosen to support the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival as we celebrate our 34th year next June,&#8221; he said. &#8220;This honor speaks to how special the festival truly is and its great legacy of beautiful music-making.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Amanda Gookin<\/strong>, previous executive director of the SVBF, wrote and applied for the GAP grant. It is one of more than 1,100 GAP awards nationwide, totaling more than $31.8 million, announced by the NEA on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe NEA is proud to continue our nearly 60 years of supporting the efforts of organizations and artists that help to shape our country\u2019s vibrant arts sector and communities of all types across our nation,\u201d said NEA Chair <strong>Maria Rosario Jackson<\/strong>, PhD. \u201cIt is inspiring to see the wide range of creative projects taking place, including 糖心Vlog\u2019s Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">糖心Vlog the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual weeklong summer festival presents vibrant performances on the 糖心Vlog campus and in Downtown Harrisonburg, Virginia, by&nbsp;Bach Festival Musicians and guest artists, the&nbsp;Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival Orchestra, Baroque Academy Faculty, and Festival Choir.
