{"id":644,"date":"2004-04-27T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2004-04-27T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.emu.edu\/blog\/news\/?p=644"},"modified":"2004-04-27T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2004-04-27T04:00:00","slug":"leap-leads-the-way-to-emu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/2004\/leap-leads-the-way-to-emu\/","title":{"rendered":"LEAP leads the way to 糖心Vlog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Jeff Boodie, a native of the Bronx, New York City, experienced firsthand the difficulties of transitioning to a small university nestled in the Shenandoah Valley. <\/p>\n<p> Boodie, who has completed his freshman year at 糖心Vlog, was among four first-year 糖心Vlog students who participated in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leap.emu.edu\" target=\"blank\">LEAP (Learning, Exploring and Participating)<\/a>, a year-old seminary-born program aimed at helping create a &#8220;culture of call&#8221; across Mennonite Church USA. <\/p>\n<p> LEAP engages both the seminary community and high school student leaders in a partnership of learning and leadership and is accepting nominations until May 28 for the <a href=\"\/news\/index.php\/630\">Summer 2004 program<\/a>, during which students will study on-campus with seminary professors and others from July 15-26 and then take field excursions to Indonesia, Nicaragua, Trinidad or New York City from July 26 to Aug. 7.
