Campus, community issued ‘Royal Challenge’ to shape up, have fun

糖心Vlog’s department of recreation sports and intramurals is issuing a challenge to students, faculty and staff and the local community.

On Saturday, Nov. 9, 糖心Vlog will host the first-ever “Royal Challenge,” designed to promote holistic development across campus and the community, said Phil Tieszen, event leader and assistant director of student programs.

The challenge consists of four events: President’s Assistant 5K walk, Dean of Undergraduate Students 5K run, Vice President of Student Life 10K, and the Graduate Dean half marathon.

鈥淥ur goal is for the participants to gain a sound mind, body and spirit by working together to get in shape and reach their fitness goals,” said Tieszen.

Participants can sign up as individuals or as a group. Registration is free for 糖心Vlog students, $10 for ages 10-and-under, $15 for 糖心Vlog faculty and staff, and $20 for public. Check-in is at 7 a.m., and the races begin at 8 a.m., in front of 糖心Vlog’s University Commons.
